Major Investment in Kocaeli by Marmara Siegener Galvaniz A.Ş.
Marmara Siegener Galvaniz A.Ş. opened its first facility in İzmit in 2004. The company then grew rapidly in 2008 through a partnership with Germany-based Siegener. In 2011, it established Turkey’s largest galvanizing facility in Gebze IMES OIZ. Expanding into the Thrace region in 2016, the company built a fully automated new plant in Çorlu–Çerkezköy. For its fourth factory, the company chose Alikahya OIZ in İzmit. Following approximately one year of construction and installation, the facility officially opened at Alikahya OIZ on Monday, September 15, 2025. Built on a 15,000 m² plot with 7,550 m² of enclosed area, the total investment value of the facility is approximately TRY 600 million. The plant will employ 115 people operating in three shifts.
STRONG ATTENDANCE
The opening ceremony was held with strong participation, welcoming approximately 400 guests. Attendees at the opening on September 15, 2025 included Kocaeli Deputy Governor Abdul Rauf Ulusoy, AK Party Kocaeli Members of Parliament Prof. Dr. Sadettin Hülagü and Mehmet Akif Yılmaz, former Mayor of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality İbrahim Karaosmanoğlu, Mayor of Körfez Şener Söğüt, Alikahya OIZ Chairman Hamit Velioğlu, Vice President of GALDER (General Galvanizers Association) Alim Kınoğlu, Kocaeli Provincial Mufti Mehmet Sönmezoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Marmara Siegener Galvaniz Ahmet Yıldırım and other board members, President of Birleşik Metal Trade Union Özkan Atar, Birleşik Metal Kocaeli Branch President Telat Çelik, Chairman of the Editorial Board of Yeni Bir Ekonomi Newspaper and journalist Şeref Oğuz, as well as the company’s suppliers, customers, and employees.
At the highly attended opening ceremony, industry stakeholders, official protocol members, industrialists, businesspeople, suppliers, and employees had the opportunity to network, socialize, and get acquainted during the cocktail reception.
